What's Happening at Hibernia Campground
Hibernia, Queens County
The Nova Scotia Guides' Association is located approximately 40 kilometers north of Liverpool off Highway #8 on the Hibernia Road between the First and Second Christopher Lakes. North Queens County is the heartland of Nova Scotia's interior wilderness and comprises some off Nova Scotia's best canoe routes. Kejimkujik National Park, the Tobeatic Wildlife Management Area, Rossignol Reservoir, Ponhook and Molega Lakes and the Mersey and Medway Rivers are all within reach by motor vehicle or experienced paddler.
Hibernia is in a geologic area known as the Kejimkujik Drumlins. There is lower summer rainfall and higher temperatures than the provincial average. The unique climate and topography supports local populations of more southernly animals such as the Blanding's Turtle, Ribbon Snake, Scarlet Tanager and Wood Thrush. Hunting and fishing opportunities also abound with a variety of game animals and fish to choose from. Regardless of where you are in the province make sure you know Nova Scotia's hunting and fishing regulations and the local area BEFORE you hunt or fish. This is where a licensed guide can help.
